How to Install Vertical Blinds

Mounting fasteners should be selected to suit mounting surface:mounting fasteners

 

 

 

OUTSIDE/WALL MOUNT (WITHOUT VALANCE)

  • For standard and deluxe track (aluminum), mount "L" brackets not more than 3" from each end of track and not more than 30" apart over remaining length.
  • Adjust mounting clips to allow 1/2" clearance between louver and wall. Example - 2 1/4" for 3 1/2" louvers.
  • Track should be centered under mounting clips, insert track into short end of mounting clip and snap into place with rolling motion toward rear.

OUTSIDE/WALL MOUNT (WITH VALANCE)

  • Snap on valance hangers next to each "L" bracket.
  • Center valance on track and slide all the way into hanger.

INSIDE/CEILING MOUNT (WITH VALANCE)

  • Valance must be drilled and positioned between mounting clips and ceiling.
  • The top inside surface of the valance is scored with three parallel lines. On most installations, the center line should be aligned with the screw-hole line, hold in place, drill through valance and into ceiling.
  • Insert appropriate screw through the mounting clip tightening valance against ceiling. (Insert track in place as described.)

INSIDE/CEILING MOUNT (WITHOUT VALANCE)

  • Measure depth to allow _" clearance between louver and window. Example - 2" for 31/2" louvers.
  • Attach mounting clips to ceiling not more than 3" from each end of aluminum track and not more than 30" apart over remainder of track.
  • Track should be centered under mounting clips, insert track into short end of mounting clip and

VALANCE ASSEMBLY CLOSED CORNER

  • Cut fabric insert 1" longer than valance at each end.
  • Position fabric and wrap excess around ends.
  • Hold fabric into place with closed corner.
  • Cut fabric flush with end of return groover.
  • Repeat on returns, taping or stapling loose (wall) end of return.

OPEN CORNER

  • Cut fabric long enough to wrap around open corner and cover the entire valance return plus at least 1" excess.
  • Position open corner and valance returns.
  • Position fabric, wrap over open corner and return.
  • Trim excess fabric at wall end of valance return and secure with tape or staples.

ATTACHING LOUVERS

  • Turn louver hooks perpendicular to window or wall.
  • Push each louver into hook until it snaps into place.
  • NOTE: With grooved louvers and fabric, make sure the louver is inserted against the longer prong. This will prevent the mounting hook from snagging fabric.

 REMOVING LOUVERS

  • Gently open louver hook with finger and remove louver as shown.

ADJUSTING CORD LENGTH

 cord length  SIDE DRAW TRACK
  • Pull cord to locate blind in fully opened position.
  • Locate knot on end of cord in exposed lead carrier.
  • Pull knot until cord weight reaches desired position.
  • Tie new knot in cord and cut off excess.


CENTER DRAW TRACK

  • Pull cord to locate blind in fully closed position.
  • Locate knots on end of cords in lead carrier.
  • Select one of the 2 cord ends and pull on the knot.
  • Observe the carriers to be sure that they do not move when you pull the cord. If they do then select the other cord.(CAUTION -Cutting wrong cord will damage beyond repair.)
  • Pull this cord until the cord weight reaches the desired position.
  • Tie new knot in cord and cut off excess.
