fect home takes effort and work, and pulling together a cohesive look can be challenging if you don't know where to start. If you want a design that reflects your style but aren't sure how to begin, we've complied a list of apps and local San Francisco Bay Area designers who provide virtual interior design services. With varying degrees of involvement, you can find a solution that helps you realize your dream home.

Virtual and E-design Apps

If you're more of a DIY person, here are some apps that will get you started with inspiration and guidance. No more wondering what you should shop for first.

With Modsy's design app, you upload photos of the room in question, and take a style quiz. Based on your results, a Modsy designer will create a design for you. Best part? Keep reworking until your absolutely happy. After you've settled on a new look, you can shop the recommended pieces in the app.

The Wayfair Room Planner let's you dabble in 3D design. Choose a template or create your own, and fill it with products from Wayfair's catalogue. This helps you see how your design elements flow across departments, from chairs to rugs to curtains.

This tool is idea for people who like to browse or already have a good idea of what they want. The "create your own" feature opens up the entire catalogue to you, so those with less direction may feel overwhelmed. Alternately, you can choose a "room theme" that will get you started.

Can't write this list without saying something in particular about our favorite topic, window treatments! The Graber Visualizer is a great tool to help you see what a window treatment will look like in your home. No more surprises. Couple the mock up with some fabric swatches to see how it will look in real life.

Havenly offers two design packages. The first is a room refresh, the second is a full-on (re)design. You pick your designer and collaborate, but don't worry, they'll do most of the heavy lifting in terms of inspiration.

Spacejoy is a good resource for people who have an idea of their style, but aren't ready for the independence of the Wayfair Room Planner. After uploading images of your space, you can talk to a designer about any elements and products you're loving, the style you're aiming for, and your vision for the room.
