Friday Favorites No. 3

This week, we've got a motley mix of fellow businesses we enjoy shopping at. Natural skincare and beauty, fun pet accessories, and a charming bookshop.

Good Common Sense Naturals - 614 Main Street, Pleasanton

The owner, Wendy, makes all her products by hand in-store. There's also an emphasis on sustainability. Several products come in glass or refillable jars — just bring it back to the shop. There are bath bombs galore for adults and kids alike, and a rainbow of soaps, bath, beauty, and facial products. Personal faves include the activated charcoal mud mask ("Swamp Thing"), the exfoliating scrubs, bath teas, bath salts, and the underrated shower tablet.

Murphy's Paw - 410 Main Street, Pleasanton

A boutique pet shop that carries fun and surprising finds. From basics, like harnesses and toys, to the fanciful, like peanut butter popcorn, freeze-dried duck heads, cake mix, and pet-inspired jewelry, there are things to delight both pet and owner.

Towne Center Books - 555 Main Street, Pleasanton

Quaint little bookshop on Main Street, just catty-corner from another beloved institution, Inklings. The book selection is vast, and the staff are ready to order any book you're looking for if it's not in stock. The book cart beckons passerby to pause and leaf through some pages, for the chance to get lost in a story.
